Open enrollment for your 2025 benefits will be held November 4 - 15, 2024.

Open Enrollment:

Enroll before the enrollment deadline. If you miss the deadline and don’t enroll or make changes to your benefits, your current benefits will not continue, or you’ll receive only those benefits that are fully paid for by IFS. Additionally, you won’t be able to participate in any FSAs or HSAs, and you’ll have to wait until the next Open Enrollment, unless you experience a qualified life event, to enroll or change benefits.

New employees:

Enroll within 30 days from your date of hire. If you don’t enroll within this time period, you will not have benefits coverage, except for plans and programs that are fully paid for by IFS. New Hire benefits begin on day one of employment.

  • Employees scheduled to work 25+ hrs./wk. – Eligible upon hire; must choose benefits within 30 days of hire date.
  • Eligible dependents – Includes your legal spouse, children to age 26, domestic partner and their children (to age 26) who meet plan criteria.

Medical ▼

Administered through Aetna

Quality health coverage is one of the most valuable benefits you enjoy as an IFS employee. Our benefits program offers plans to help keep you and your family healthy and also provides important protection in the event of illness or injury.

For 2025, you have a choice of medical plans giving you the flexibility to choose what’s best for your needs and budget.

  • HDHP (High Deductible Health Plan), a consumer-based plan featuring in- and out-of-network benefits that allows you to have more control over the cost of your health care. To support your health care choices, this plan allows you to establish a tax-free Health Savings Account (HSA).
  • PPO, a preferred provider organization plan that includes in-network and out-of-network coverage.
Key features
All of IFS’s medical plans offer:
  • Comprehensive, affordable coverage for a wide range of health care services.
  • In-network preventive care, with services covered at 100%, including annual physicals, recommended immunizations, well-woman and well-child exams, flu shots, and routine cancer screenings.
  • Prescription drug coverage included with each medical plan.
  • Financial protection through annual out-of-pocket maximums that limit the amount you’ll pay each year.
  • Choice of coverage levels: Employee Only, Employee + Spouse, Employee + Child(ren), and Family

Health Savings Account (HSA) ▼

Administered by HSA Bank

If you enroll in the HDHP, you are eligible to open an HSA. A HSA is a tax-free (federal taxes) savings account you can use to pay for eligible health expenses anytime, even in retirement.

How does an HSA work?

  • Build tax-free savings for health care. You can make before-tax deductions from your paycheck into your HSA, allowing you to save money by using tax-free dollars to pay for eligible medical, prescription, dental, and vision expenses.
  • Keep your money. Unlike an FSA, the money in your HSA is always yours to keep and can be rolled over from year to year. You can take your unused balance with you when you retire or leave IFS.
  • Use it like a bank account. Pay for eligible medical, most prescription and over-the-counter drugs, dental, and vision expenses for yourself and your family by swiping your HSA debit card or reimburse yourself for payments you’ve made.
  • Earn interest and invest for the future. You can learn more at hsabank.com or call (800) 357-6246.
  • Never pay taxes. Contributions are made on a before-tax basis, and your withdrawals will never be subject to federal income taxes when used for eligible expenses.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) ▼

Administered by Wex Health

Tax-advantaged FSAs are a great way to save money. The money you contribute to these accounts comes out of your paycheck without being taxed, and you withdraw it tax-free when you pay for eligible health care and dependent care expenses.

Healthcare Flexible Spending Account:

  • Pay for eligible health care expenses, including out-of-pocket expenses such as plan deductibles, Copayments, and Coinsurance, but not insurance premiums.
  • Contribute up to $3,300 in 2025 (IRS limits for 2025 contributions have not been announced yet).
  • Any contributions that have not been used by 12/31/2025 will be carried over until 03/31/2026 up to the IRS rollover limit.
Limited-Purpose FSA:
Note: If you enroll in the HDHP and have an HSA, you are not eligible to open a Health Care FSA, but you can open a Limited-Purpose FSA.
Use it to pay for dental and vision expenses only.

Dependent Flexible Spending Account:

  • Pay for eligible dependent care expenses, such as day care or adult dependent care, so you can work, or attend school full time.
  • Contribute up to $5,000, or $2,500 per spouse if you are married in 2025 and file separate tax returns (IRS limits for 2024 contributions have not been announced yet).

Hospital Indemnity Insurance ▼

Administered by Aetna

A trip to the hospital can be stressful, and so can the bills. Even  with a major medical plan, you may still be responsible for Copays, deductibles, and other out-of-pocket costs. A hospital indemnity  plan provides supplemental payments directly to you — unless  assigned to someone else — that you can use to cover expenses  that your medical plan doesn’t cover for hospital stays.
