Vision ▼

Administered by Superior through MetLife

Vision coverage offered through MetLife is 100% employee-paid. You can see any provider, but if you see an out-of-network provider, the plan will reimburse you up to a certain amount.

Even if you don’t wear glasses, regular visits to your eye doctor are important to your overall health. That’s because a routine eye exam can often detect early signs of serious health conditions like diabetes.  A group vision plan makes it easier to get the care you need and lower your costs.

The MetLife Vision Plan features:

  • Low to no copays for in-network services and materials, including contact lens fittings and evaluations
  • The freedom to visit any licensed eye care professional or choose from thousands of participating ophthalmologists, optometrists, and opticians/optical retailers. Your out-of-pocket costs will usually be lower when you visit an in-network provider.
  • Valuable extras – polycarbonate (shatter-resistant) lenses for children up to 18 years of age and ultraviolet coating are covered in full in-network.
  • Great savings in-network on the latest eyewear and brand name frames.
  • Hearing discounts: A National Hearing Network of hearing care professionals, featuring Your Hearing Network, offers Superior Vision members discounts on services, hearing aids and accessories. These discounts should be verified prior to service.

MetLife offers the Vision Health Library tool at www.metlife.com/mybenefits, which provides valuable information to better manage your vision health. Find a Superior Vision provider at www.metlife.com/vision and select ‘Superior Vision by MetLife’.

Commuter  & Transportation ▼

Convo Communications offers a Commuter Benefits account to help you save tax dollars and increase your net pay. A Commuter Benefits account is designed exclusively for employees and allows a participating employee to take certain expenses from their paycheck on a pre-tax basis. This means that all amounts deducted from your paycheck and contributed toward your Commuter Benefits account will not be subject to Federal Income tax, nor will be subject to Social Security tax.

Also, any unused funds will carry over to the next month and even into the next tax year. The IRS does not allow contributed funds to be returned.

You may enroll in a Commuter Benefits account, allowing out-of-pocket transit and parking expenses to be paid with pre-tax dollars. You pledge a monthly or recurring month amount to be deducted from each paycheck, up to $315 per month. These pre-tax dollars are set aside in an account and are available for reimbursement of eligible transit and parking expenses.
