Health Reimbursement Accounts (HRA) ▼

Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA)
Administered by Anthem

When you enroll in either of the “copay plan” options of the Blue Connection / Blue Access Network Plans, you have the opportunity to earn an employer contribution to your HRA account by completing the Premier Healthy Living wellness incentive.

A Health Reimbursement Arrangement (HRA) is an employer-sponsored reimbursement account used to reimburse a portion of a participant’s eligible out of-pocket medical expenses, such as deductibles, co-insurance, and pharmacy expenses. It’s not an insurance plan; it’s a reimbursement program funded entirely by Premier Health to help make health care more affordable.

Premier Health will fund your HRA with no contributions required from you. You are only able to reimburse expenses for your spouse and dependents if they are also enrolled in the plan.

Key Features:

  • Funds may be used for qualified medical expenses only.
  • Caregivers do not contribute to this account.
  • Each year, your HRA balance will reset to the HDHP statutory deductible limit established by the IRS and will be based on the coverage level you select.*
  • Participants may be eligible for employer contributions by participating in the Premier Healthy Living Program.
  • Premier Healthy Living dollars contributed to an HRA on your behalf are employer-owned, meaning you do not have access to the funds should you leave
  • Premier Health in the future.
  • Pairs with the Copay Plans only.
  • You will not receive an HRA card from Anthem, as the program is integrated with claims to pay the provider directly, if participating.

*For participants enrolled in copay plans after Jan. 1, 2023

Limited Purpose HRA (LPHRA)
Administered by Fidelity Investments

A Limited Purpose HRA (LPHRA) is an employer-sponsored reimbursement account used to reimburse a portion of a participant’s eligible out of-pocket dental and vision expenses. Employees who transfer from their HRA copay plan during 2026 Benefits Open Enrollment to a “High Deductible HDHP Plan” option of the Blue Connection / Blue Access Network Plans will be able to have their HRA balance as of Jan. 1, 2026 transferred into the LPHRA account.

Key Features:

  • Funds may be used for qualified dental and vision expenses only.
  • Once a statutory deductible is met, account may be converted to use towards medical expenses as well.
  • Caregivers do not contribute to this account.
  • Pairs with the HDHP Plans only.
  • Must also enroll in HSA during Open Enrollment only.
  • Switching back to a Copay Plan in a future enrollment will result in the loss of accumulated dollars.
  • Your NetBenefits AccessCard® can be used for both your LPHRA and HSA balances.
Premier_FSA

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) ▼

Administered by Anthem

Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) allow you to save money on a pre-tax basis to pay for qualified medical expenses and/or dependent care expenses you may incur throughout the year. The money you put into your FSA is done so on a pre-tax basis. This means you are lowering your taxable income and also not paying taxes when the money is used for qualified expenses. You have access to the following:

  • The Health Care FSA
  • The Dependent Care FSA

You may deposit up to $3,200 per year in a Health Care FSA and/or up to $7,500 per year in a Dependent Care FSA. The money you set aside in an FSA must be used during the same calendar year. Any funds remaining at the end of the year must be forfeited.

Dependent Care FSA account contribution limits for Highly Compensated Employees will be capped at $1,000.

Please note that these accounts are separate — you may choose to participate in one, both, or neither. You cannot use money from the Health Care FSA to cover expenses eligible under the Dependent Care FSA or vice versa.

Visit irs.gov for more information.

Anthem Debit Card
Your Premier Health FSA and DCA comes with an Anthem debit card that can be used for eligible FSA/DCA transactions. If a transaction requires additional review, you will be asked to provide valid documentation, including receipts and/or explanation of benefits, to validate the transaction.

Hospital Indemnity ▼

Administered by Lincoln Financial

Hospital indemnity insurance can reduce the financial stress of a hospital stay by providing a lump-sum cash benefit directly to you that can be used however you need. The policy does not coordinate with any other coverage, so you can still receive benefits on top of what your medical plan provides. Even with health insurance, a stay in the hospital can become very costly very quickly as out-of-pocket charges begin to add up.

Plus, the plan will also pay you a $50 cash benefit every year you and each of your covered family members complete a single covered exam, screening, or immunization.
