Passive Enrollment ▼

Benefits are more important than ever, and we encourage you to take time to review your options to ensure your coverage continues to meet the needs of you and your family.

This year’s Open Enrollment will be a passive enrollment. If you do not take action, your current benefit elections will roll over into the upcoming plan year. However, you must actively re-elect your Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care FSA contributions, as these elections do not automatically carry over.

Open Enrollment is also an excellent time to review and update your beneficiary designations to ensure your information is current and accurate.

Worksite Benefits Update ▼

Voluntary Accident, Critical Illness, and Cancer/Intensive Care benefits elected in prior years are now administered through The Standard. The Standard acquired Allstate, so your benefits were not replaced—just administered by a new provider. Rates remain the same, and no action is required unless you wish to make changes during enrollment.

Medical ▼

Administered through BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee

Blue Cross Blue Shield ID Cards: Employees enrolled in Blue Cross Blue Shield will be receiving a new ID card. Please be sure to use your new card once it arrives and discard your old card.

You have the choice of which BCBST network that you want to use. The S Network plan offers a more selective list of providers for a lower cost, while the P Network plan has a broader list of providers with higher payroll deductions. You may visit the physician of your choice, however, if you visit an out-of-network physician, you may be balance billed.

All medical plans include preventive care services 100% covered under your medical insurance, meaning no copays or deductibles will apply when an in-network provider delivers the covered services. Preventive exams can detect if you are at risk for a chronic disease that may be preventable.

The plan covers preventive care visits at 100%, includes an out-of-pocket maximum to protect you should a catastrophic event occur, and out-of-network coverage if needed. Although out-of-network coverage is available, using in-network providers will save you money. You can find BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee network providers online at bcbst.com.

Virtual Care with TextCare

With virtual visits, you can be treated for various general healthcare concerns from the comfort of your home or office. If you are enrolled in the medical plan, you will have access to board-certified doctors.

  • Discuss primary and urgent care needs, chronic condition management, and routine medication needs.

  • Get support finding and scheduling a specialist visit.

  • Accessible via text message and video chat.

  • Receive direct access to on-demand, high quality care.

  • Appointments are not required. Simply send a text to initiate care at 423.205.7016

Providers can assist with primary and urgent care needs, mental health questions, chronic condition management, and routine medication needs. Rather than having to visit the ER because your doctor’s office is closed, or having to take a sick child to the doctor’s office when you only need a prescription, you can send a text and get a response from One to One Health’s board certified providers within 5 minutes.

Biometric Screening

With the goal of helping you achieve a healthier and more balanced lifestyle, you have the option of participating in a biometric screening. This helps those enrolled in our medical plan to reach their
personal health and wellness objectives. By establishing a health profile through biometric screenings, you can set health and wellness goals for yourself. This is the first step in managing your health.

By taking an active role in your wellness and participating in a biometric screening, you and your spouse will receive a $25 bonus.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA) ▼

Administered by Pinnacle

FSAs help you pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, and dependent care out-of-pocket costs by allowing you to set aside pre-tax contributions. Health Care FSA funds are available to use as of April 1st, even money you have not contributed yet. Dependent Care funds are only available as you contribute.

Types of FSA

  • A Health Care FSA is for qualifying out-of-pocket medical expenses including co-pays, coinsurance, expenses applied to deductibles, dental, vision, prescriptions, some over-the-counter medications, and menstrual care products.

  • A Dependent Care FSA is for pre-tax reimbursement of dependent care expenses while you are away at work, such as childcare for an eligible tax dependent under age 13 or an elderly tax-dependent parent who requires care. Eligible expenses include daycare, preschool, summer day camp, elder care, and in-home aids.

How It Works

  • Start by determining the annual election amount. Pre-tax contributions will be made in equal installments from your payroll.

  • Pay for eligible medical, dental, vision, over-the-counter medications, and menstrual care products with your Pinnacle | Health & Benefits “smart” debit card. The card knows which account type to pull from first.

  • Upload and save receipts to the online portal or mobile app using the camera on your smartphone to use as documentation that your expense is FSA-eligible. Explanations of Benefits (EOBs) make good receipts, as they have all the required information: Patient and provider name, date and service, and amount.

  • If you paid with another source, submitting a claim is simple. Use a receipt or EOB to submit a claim via the online portal, mobile app, or U.S. Postal Service.

  • Check claims status via the online portal, mobile app, or phone call to the client service center. Use the mobile app’s eligible expense bar code scanner to determine eligible purchases.

  • You cannot mix funds from one account to another. You may only use Health Care FSA money for health care expenses and Dependent Care FSA for funds for dependent care (daycare) expenses.

  • You can incur expenses only during the plan year you are enrolled.

  • You must re-enroll each year if you wish to continue funding the account(s).

Contribution Limits

The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) sets the annual contribution levels for FSAs. You are responsible for monitoring the amounts deposited into your accounts not to exceed the maximum annual limits.

For 2026, the FSA contribution limits are as follows:

  • Health Care FSA: $3,400 – unused amounts over $680 at the end of the year will be forfeited

  • Dependent Care FSA: $7,500 per household ($3,750 if married, filing separately)
