Medical ▼

Administered by Cigna

Preferred Provider Organization (PPO)
A PPO plan offers the freedom to receive care from any in- or out-of-network doctor, specialist or hospital without a referral. You have a deductible to meet and once the deductible is met, coinsurance (or the cost share between you and the carrier) kicks in. The types of medical services that accumulate towards your deductible are inpatient hospital stays, outpatient surgeries, labs (blood work) and x-rays (MRIs, PET scans, CT scans, etc.). If you go to the doctor, see a specialist, utilize the ER or take a prescription drug, you’ll pay a copay for those specific services. Copays do not accumulate towards your deductible but they do accumulate towards your overall out-of-pocket maximum.

Learn More About the PPO Plans

High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) with Health Savings Account (HSA)
This medical plan option is comprised of two components (1) a High Deductible Health Plan (HDHP) and (2) a tax-exempt savings account called a Health Savings Account (HSA).

The HDHP is a high deductible health plan that provides health care benefits after the deductible has been met. Prior to meeting your deductible, all medical services, with the exception of preventative care, are paid for by you at 100%, less carrier discounts, including routine office visits, procedures, lab work, most prescription drugs, etc.

The HSA is a bank account paired with your HDHP allowing you to set aside money on a tax-free basis to pay your out-of-pocket qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses throughout the year or in the future. You own the money in your HSA account and it is yours to keep – even when you change plans or retire. The funds roll over from year to year to be used when you really need them.

If you elect to cover a domestic partner under Corient’s Health Plan, please be aware that the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) generally considers the value of that coverage as taxable income. This taxable income is known as imputed income and will be added to your gross income for tax purposes.

  • You pay less in premium for this plan
  • Unused funds rollover each year with no maximum on how much you can save and accumulate over time
  • The account is portable so you never have to worry about losing the money in the account should you change between plans, retire or even seek employment elsewhere
  • Your HSA can be viewed as a second means of savings for your retirement
  • You control your healthcare spending and choose when to use your HSA dollars and when to save them
  • You become a more informed participant in your healthcare and healthcare spending

2026 Annual IRS Maximum Contribution

  • Employee Only: $4,400
  • Family: $8,750
  • Over Catch-up Contribution (Age 55 and Older): $1,000

Steps to using your HSA

  1. Go to the doctor and present your carrier ID card
  2. Your doctor submits your medical services to the carrier to be discounted
  3. Your carrier adjusts the pricing to reflect the network discounted amount for your services
  4. The carrier generates an Explanation of Benefits (EOB) and sends it to you
  5. By now you’ve received an invoice from your doctor - make sure the EOB and invoice match
  6. Pay your doctor directly with pre-tax dollars from your HSA or post-tax dollars from your pocket if funds are not available

Using your HSA on qualified expenses
You can use the money in your HSA to pay for qualified medical, dental, and vision expenses permitted under federal tax law. For a full list of qualified medical expenses go to www.irs.gov and search Section 213d.

Please Note: The tax-preferred status of your HSA contributions depend on a number of factors. For example, you must be enrolled in a qualified high deductible health plan. Also, residents of California and New Jersey are taxed on HSA contributions at the state level. State tax laws can change periodically, so you should consult with a tax advisor to confirm the tax treatment of HSA contributions in your state. The family maximum HSA contribution rule applies even if one spouse has family HDHP coverage and the other has self-only HDHP coverage, or if each spouse has family HDHP coverage that does not cover the other spouse. This does not apply to catch –up contributions. Married couples who both are over age 55 may each make an additional $1,000 contribution to their separate HSAs.

Whole Life Complete with Long-Term Care ▼

Administered by The Standard

Corient believes that protecting your financial well-being and providing for your loved ones is of the utmost
importance. With The Standard’s Group Whole Life plan, you can have peace of mind knowing that you have comprehensive coverage tailored to your needs.

Whole Life with Long Term Care, offered through The Standard, provides guaranteed, lifetime protection (as long as premiums are paid). The policy's long-term care benefits offer financial support to supplement the cost of long-term care that you may need as a result of an accident, illness, or aging. The policy's life insurance benefits protect your beneficiaries financially in the event of your passing. They are free to use the funds from the life insurance in any way they choose, such as for final expenses, retirement, education for children or grandchildren, or other expenses.

Policy Limits (Guaranteed Issue Amounts):

  • Employee: During the initial enrollment period only, you can get up to $150,000 of coverage without answering medical questions. This benefit can be purchased in increments of $25,000, up to $150,000.
  • Spouse: During the initial enrollment period only, you may select $10,000 or $20,000 of coverage without answering medical questions.
  • Child(ren): During the initial enrollment period only, you are eligible for a $10,000 term life policy without answering medical questions. This benefit applies to all eligible children up to age 26.

How Whole Life with Long Term Care works:
In the event of death, this policy will pay your beneficiaries the face value amount of the policy you select. There is also a cash value component to this benefit that has a guaranteed rate of return over the life of the policy.

The long-term care benefit can be triggered when an individual is certified as chronically ill or cognitively impaired and confined to a nursing home, assisted living facility, receiving home health care, or adult day care services. There are no age requirements for long-term care. To be eligible, you must be unable to perform two out of six of the following activities of daily living on your own: bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, toileting, or getting in/out of bed.

In the event that you need long-term care services, this policy will pay 6% of the death benefit for up to 17 months. Once that is exhausted, the Extension of Benefits Rider will pay an additional 6% of the restored death benefit for up to an additional 17 months. This means that long-term benefits will last for up to a total of 34 months, if needed.

If you fully exhaust the Long Term Care benefits, the Restoration Rider will restore the entire face value amount of your policy. This allows you to receive the care you need while living (long-term care services) and ensures that your
beneficiaries receive the full death benefit after your passing.

Plan Costs:
Whole Life Insurance with Long Term Care is an issue age policy, which means that the cost locks in at the age you are today based on the amount of insurance you choose. Rates are based on your age, face amount, and tobacco status. For the child term rider, the cost is a flat $2.28 per pay period and covers all of your eligible children under that one flat rate.

Please Note: This benefit is only available during Open Enrollment and will not apply for Qualified Life Events. This plan is renewable and portable.
